Cut your passion fruit and a half and scoop the pulp out into a small bowl. Save the pulp of two passion fruit for the sauce.
Bring the water to a boil and stir in the flavored Jell-O
Mix the cold water with the condensed milk
Mix the passion fruit pulp with the rest of the ingredients
Refrigerate from four hours to overnight. A small ramekin will chill faster than a large mold. If you are using a large mold I recommend refrigerating for at least 6 hours.
heat up the water and stir and sugar mix with the pulp of two passion fruits and stir. Spoon over the desert.
If you are unmolding the desert. Run a sharp knife along the edge, then dip it in warm water from 2- 15 seconds, a glass or ceramic mold may take a few more seconds to transfer the heat compared to a mold made out of metal.
When I make this recipe, I almost always make a double batch. A double back seems to feel most molds nicely. This recipe is very sweet. I've had some feedback that some people would like to know how to make it less sweet. You can substitute evaporated milk for the condensed milk, it will turn out less sweet.
I aspire to share recipes that you and your family can enjoy while also learning about cooking fundamentals along the way. I attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, CA and now enjoy cooking as a hobby.
