Basic Vinaigrette

This recipe will teach you how to make a basic vinaigrette. Once you know the ratio of 3:1, oil to vinegar, you can use that base as a jumping off point for endless variations.

Basic Vinaigrette

This recipe will teach you how to make a basic vinaigrette. Once you know the ratio of 3:1, oil to vinegar, you can use that base as a jumping off point for endless variations.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp garlic finely minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • ½ tsp black pepper stone ground or dijon

Instructions
 

  • Add all the ingredients into a glass jar. Shake well to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings to your preference.

Notes

This recipe is to be used as a jumping off point! Use what you have or the flavors you prefer. Just remember about 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar. 
Oil: avocado oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, walnut oil, hemp seed oil ect.
Vinegar: Lime, lemon or orange juice, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, white wine vinegar, red wine vinegar
Sweetness: agave, honey, jam, preserves 
Extra flavor: garlic, fresh herbs, ginger, shallots, scallions, onion
